Mouth Ulcers
Mouth ulcers are red, crater-like erosions that appear usually on the sides of the mouth or on the gums. They
usually occur singly but sometimes appear in clusters. Mouth ulcers' exact causes are not known but they seem
to be associated with resistance-lowering conditions such as stress, menstruation,
wounds inside the mouth, and deficiencies in iron, folic acid, zinc, and vitamin B12.
Nose Bleeds - Epistaxis
Recurring nose bleeds are common in children and HealthPoint offers a method
or reducing the duration of the nose blee and so minimising blood loss
Tinnitus - Menieres - Vertigo - Ringing in the Ears
Tinnitus is often perceived as a high-pitched whistling sound which is much more noticeable in quiet
surroundings. It often accompanies degeneration of the hearing nerve, thus hearing loss is also sometimes
experienced. Tinnitus can be caused by some drugs (aspirin, quinine, quinidine, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
drugs), wax in the ear, rapid changes in barometric pressure, or a number of diseases, including thyroid conditions
and heart disease. The majority of cases are associated with sensorineural hearing loss. In many cases, the cause
remains unknown.
Meniere's disease is a special kind of tinnitus, accompanied by a loss of hearing, dizziness, and vertigo.
Tinnitus and Meniere's disease are very difficult conditions to treat, but HealthPoint
offers relief in a considerable proportion of patients. This represents a substantial improvement on conventional
approaches to the problem.
Tonsillitis
Tonsillitis, or sore throat, is most often due to a viral infection. In some cases however, it can be due to
bacteria.
